A Parent’s First Duty is to Protect Their Children Emotionally AND Physically!

As many of you know, most of my work focuses on the enhancement and well-being of your children’s emotional health, but today I am going to switch gears a bit and focus on your children’s physical health…in fact I am going to play devil’s advocate. I am going to ask you a ridiculously absurd question! (After you read it please don’t be offended, I am just trying to make a point). To be honest I already know your answer, however, I ask that you take a second and think about the implication and stay with me…

How many of you would take all that you are painstakingly omitting from your lives
in order to protect our environment and serve them to your children?
I know you are probably mortified right now at such a crazy question…but here is where the real absurdity lies. Have you ever read the labels of the “medicines” that we give our children? If you are like me, you probably can’t even pronounce most of what it says let alone know what it really is. But what I do know is that they are drug and chemically based ingredients…in other words things that are not in line with what is natural to the human body.

Oh, but wait, I here you shouting”They bring relief to my child when she wakes up in the middle of the night with an earache or sore throat!” Some of you may be thinking something along the lines of “My child needs those medicines to maximize his health, he has asthma!”
And believe me I totally get that. I was of the same opinion for a long time.
  • My adult daughter has suffered with insomnia for years and relied heavily on a prescription sleep aid.
  • My granddaughter suffered since she was 11 years old with a horrible case of acne for which she took numerous antibiotics as well as chemically based facial cleansing programs.
  • My husband who has been a tile setter for over 25 years had lived on over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medicine to alleviate the pain in his legs as a result of spending 3/4 of his adult life on his knees so that he could do his job.
  • I have suffered with chronic pain as a result of permanent nerve damage in my neck for which I was told there was no remedy other than prescription pain pills. Understanding that my situation was to deteriorate in time I chose to for-go the doctor’s suggestion of pain pills and have struggled the best I can with the use of a minimum of 1000 mg of Ibuprofen daily.
Society has led us to believe that these “medicines” are good for us because they bring relief… and for the most part they do. But what has always plagued my mind and perhaps yours as well is why is it that what is designed to bring relief is often accompanied by a warning of possible side-effects? These side effects can be devastating!

Why am I sharing all of this with you? Simple. I found solutions to help my family and myself find relief in a way that is in line with what nature has provided through the use of essential oils.

  • My daughter is no longer dependent on sleeping pills and has replaced them with Lavender oil.
  • My granddaughter is acne free by using Lemon oil.
  • My husband and I have both experienced complete relief by using Pan Away oil and Deep Relief oil.

These are the reasons (as well as countless similar stories from others) that I decided to partner my company, Awakened Parenting, with the top essential company in the world, Young Living Essential Oils, the only essential oil company that offers therapeutic grade oils.

Imagine finding relief from physical ailments without pouring drugs and chemicals into your body or your child’s body…
  • What if you could provide your family with a way to enhance their physical health without the concern of possible side-effects?
  • How would you feel if you knew the benefits you and your family were receiving were a result of the finest natural ingredients that are totally in line with what Nature intended?
  • What if you could do all of this and save money at the same time?
A friend of mine who has horrible problems with allergies was spending a minimum of $60.00 per month on prescription and over-the-counter remedies (That doesn’t cover the cost of a doctor’s visit to get the prescription!) is now finding relief with oils and after 3 months is still using the same $30.00 bottle of essential oils (with still a half of a bottle left)!

I agree with you 100%. The doctors we have all depended on for so many years play a very important role in our lives, but I believe we all, each one of us, has to take personal responsibility for out own health. It is great to learn the real power essential oils can provide when dealing with everyday illnesses and discomforts as well as the potential role they can play in more serious situations. I’ve been using medical grade essential oils for health care off and on since the mid 1990s and wouldn’t have it any other way.  While there are some contraindications with certain oils for use with young children (and some adults for that matter!), they are a brilliant, beautiful addition to the home healthcare kit.  Thanks, Denny!
